Shoshone Head Start Scholarship

Eligibility--Recipient must be a student enrolled in an academic or vocational education program at North
Idaho College. The scholarship may not be used for expenses incurred at any educational institution other
than North Idaho College.

 

 

 

Priority for Selection:

First:

A former Shoshone Head Start (located in Kellogg, Idaho) student. If no
eligible former student applies for the scholarship, then the recipient shall
be selected from the following categories.

 

A parent of a present or past student at Shoshone Head Start in Kellogg, ID

Second:

Third:

A resident of Shoshone County who meets the eligibility criteria.

Eligibility Criteria:

1. The applicant's grade point average shall be 2.25 or above during the last year of studies (high school
or college).

 

2. The applicant shall show participation in at least one extracurricular activity (club or sports).

3. The applicant shall show voluntary participation in a community service organization, community project,
or show how he/she has worked to improve the community in some way.

 

 

 

4. The applicant shall show financial need.

Application Process:

1. The applicant shall complete the North Idaho College Scholarship application. In the first section,

 

student information, circle ''yes ,appying for a specific scholarship, The scholarship name to be filled in is

the Shoshone Head Start Scholarship. You will be considered for other available scholarships as well.

2. Complete a Shoshone Head Start Scholarship application and attach the requested information.

3. Send a photocopy of the North Idaho College Scholarship application, together with the Shoshone Head
Start Scholarship application, to Janet Lake, 218 W. Riverside Ave., Kellogg, ID
83837, by April15 for consideration for funding for the fall semester of the same calendar year.

 

4. Return the original copy of the North Idaho College Scholarship application to the Financial Aid Office at
North Idaho College by April 15.

 

 

 

5. Complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid form at the North Idaho College Financial Aid
Office by April 15.

 

 

 

6. The North Idaho College Financial Aid Office will notify you if you are chosen as the recipient of the
scholarship, and the award will then be generated by NIC.
